New book!

Yes, there will be more BODY MOVERS books!

Finally, some news about the BODY MOVERS series!  I’m pleased to announce that there will be at least two more books in the series!  No official release dates yet, but SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BODIES  will probably be released in the fall of 2010, with number eight to be released probably in the spring of 2011.  And I’m hopeful there will be a fun novella released between the two full-length books!

Also…stay tuned for more really big news about the BODY MOVERS series that I hope to be able to announce very soon!

I’d like to thank all of you who have helped to grow the audience for this sexy, humorous mystery series by telling friends, family and coworkers about these books!  Every day I receive emails from readers saying their sister/aunt/coworker/spouse/friend told them about the series.  It’s proof that word of mouth is alive and well when it comes to stories and characters that readers like well enough to share, so thank you a thousand times over–without you, there wouldn’t BE a BODY MOVERS series!

Goodbye to a creative friend

I’m sorry to report this morning the passing of a friend of mine, screenwriter Blake Snyder, whose joy and boundless energy were legendary in the business.  Blake was a successful screenwriter who grew up in the L.A. entertainment industry and worked with many big Hollywood studios.  I met Blake last February to take a class from him based on a book he wrote on story structure called Save the Cat!  We connected immediately, and last fall I flew to L.A. to take his master storyboard class.  Blake was an inspiration to me and to everyone who knew him.  I’m so incredibly sad today.  Blake will be sorely missed.

More BODY MOVERS books?

Just a quick note to all of you who’ve emailed and commented here, asking if there will be more BODY MOVERS books.  I have proposed 2 more BODY MOVERS books and a BODY MOVERS novella, but the reality is that the decision is up to my publisher, not me.  Only big-name authors get to decide what and when they’ll write.  The rest of us are at the mercy of our publisher!  The decision to continue the BODY MOVERS series is being bandied about right now in my publishing house, so I hope to have concrete news within a few days.  Thanks very much for supporting this series!

Brain-wrinkle

Apparently, the only people up at 4 a.m. are people who want to extend the length of their manhood, woman in the market for a “fingertip” personal massager, men who want to regain their hairline, women who sit around in tube tops and talk on chat lines….and me.  If you pull an all-nighter and the TV is on to keep you company, you will be pelted with commercials for eye-popping products and services.

The worst thing?  You start to believe the commercials.  You actually say to yourself, “Yeah, how could they have sold a billion of the genital-extension pills to men if they didn’t work?”  And then the sun comes up and you think…what was I thinking?  If they worked, they would’ve sold 100 billion of those pills by now.

(And guys–if you’re losing your hair, let it go.  Shave your head, let it tan.  Most women know that balding men have an extra shot of testosterone.  WE LIKE THAT.  When you get the hair plugs, that kind of covers up a selling point, doesn’t it?)

That “brain-wrinkle” effect in the wee hours of the morning that has me temporarily believing wonky commercials is also why I have to carefully re-read what I wrote during those hours–to make sure it makes sense!

Tuesday, May 26, is the official release date for the sixth book in the Body Movers series!
